What is the GEO Score?

The GEO Score is a number from 0 to 100 that measures how visible your brand is across AI platforms. Think of it like a domain authority score, but for AI search. A higher GEO Score means AI platforms mention your brand more often and more prominently when users ask questions related to your tracked keywords.

How it’s calculated

Your GEO Score is based on three factors:

Mention frequency

How often AI platforms mention your brand when responding to your tracked keywords.

Position

Where your brand appears in the list of recommendations — first, third, or last.

Platform coverage

How many AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, etc.) mention you consistently.

How to improve your GEO Score

1

Review your Recommendations

Go to the Recommendations page in your dashboard. GeoRank generates specific, prioritized actions based on your data — like content gaps to fill or publications to target.
2

Optimize for cited sources

AI models reference specific sources when making recommendations. Check which sources your competitors are cited from and focus on getting mentioned in those same publications.
3

Track progress over time

Use the Visibility Over Time chart on your dashboard to see how your GEO Score changes after implementing optimizations. This feedback loop is key.
GEO Scores can fluctuate day to day because AI responses are probabilistic. Focus on weekly and monthly trends rather than daily changes.
